We had a very exciting quarter-finals during the last week. One of the most interesting voting battles was the one including Ades Blog and Reverse Turkey where Ades managed to get a win after Reverse Turkey was already leading during the last days of voting. You can read more in the following post on Ades Blog that is also the most responsible for the sudden turn and overtaking of Reverse Turkey during the last day of voting.
You can vote for the final 4 blogs here.
Don’t forget to nominate your blogs for the 3rd IBC that will start in December!

We have 8 quarter finalists in the 3rd round of the 2nd International Blog Cup. The second round turned out to be very interesting with almost half of results being tied (see the results here). This just points out that it is important to nominate your blog as soon as possible for a new competition.
So don’t wait too long as you can still nominate your (favourite) blogs for the 3rd IBC starting in December!

We are glad to inform you that iBlogCup.com is now using XIP proxy detection system for automatic blocking of proxy server voting. Thanks to guys at DEVELOPERA.COM!
This way we will not need to disqualify people by hand anymore. There was also a problem of deliberately voting through proxies for your opponent, just to get him/her disqualified that is now solved.
Happy voting!

After an interesting initial round of voting, we entered a 2nd round of 2nd International Blog Cup. As it looks like, we will see a tough battle between Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heats Club Soda and The Green Fingered Photographer, that both made a good promotion of their participation in IBC. Another blog with a lot of support is Ades Blog who will have to wait a round or two for tougher opposition as it looks like at the moment.
Don’t forget to vote for and/or nominate your favourite blogs!

As I already mentioned in the FAQ section of iBlogCup.com, voting through proxies will not be tolerated at IBC. It is not acceptable that someone gets over 15 votes in a matter of minutes through open proxy servers, and not even mentioning his/her involvement in the IBC competition on the blog.
Therefore we were forced to disqualify three blogs. Let’s hope this will be enough to discourage that kind of behaviour in the future.

After successfully completing the 1st International Blog Cup (IBC), the 2nd IBC just started and is ready after a few minor problems that were solved today. I apologise to all of the people who couldn’t vote yesterday. Everything works now and the voting can start.
This month we have a lot of private blogs competing in contrast to 1st IBC where most of the blogs were huge corporate blogs who didn’t care too much about the competition. I hope the 2nd IBC will be much more interesting.
You can proceed directly to voting page by following this link: http://iblogcup.com/blogCup2/main.php.

First of all I have to apologise that there were no posts lately - especially because it was the final week of the competition. I didn’t and still won’t have a decent Internet connection for the following week, but as it looks like IBC can run on “auto-pilot” very well :)
Congratulations to the 1st winner of IBC - Peter Andre and his blog! Number of votes shows that I was not actively promoting the competition in the last week. It was also evident during the whole 1st IBC that there were only the major blogs competing as they were not interested or were not able to inform their readers that they are competing in the IBC.
I expect higher number of votes and more interesting competition as a whole during the 2nd IBC that will start in a few days.
Thanks to everyone who voted again!

We have done some development on iBlogCup.com page lately. First of all - the voting system was corrected so that it is not possible to accidentally link visitors to directly vote for some blog. Another change was that we no longer accept E-Cards Blog Cup nominations as there was very little interest in this tematic Blog Cup nominations. Therefore we moved already nominated blogs to general IBC nominations and will be competing in the 2nd and 3rd IBC (November and December 2007).
As it all looks like we will hold our first thematic Blog Cup in December, because there is not enough entrants to hold the SEO/Marketing bloggers competition already in November.
You might have already noticed that it is already possible to see the entrants of the 2nd IBC at http://iBlogCup.com/blogCup2/main.php.
Semi-finals of the 1st IBC are still not over. It seems it will be very tight between Peterandrej and Read/WriteBlog. So don’t forget to vote for your favourites.

It all looked set for ProBlogger to win the 1st International Blog Cup competition, but as it looks like this will not happen. It looks like we will have to wait at least until the 2nd IBC to see ProBlogger winning the competition as Darren from ProBlogger decided to withdraw his blog from IBC. You can read more in his update to his initial post on IBC.
I really regret that he will not compete anymore, but I will respect his wish to withdraw ProBlogger from the 1st IBC. There are still a few nomination places for 2nd IBC, so you can still nominate ProBlogger if you like it and think that it should win the competition.
You can still see and vote for Darren’s blog (I dind’t think of withdrawals when creating the website:), but it will be replaced by Peter Andre’s blog even in case it gets more votes.
